For some reason French rock and metal bands don’t seem to get the attention they deserve elsewhere in Europe. Sometimes it’s because they sing in French, but with some bands it’s hard to understand why they aren’t well known around Europe. One such band is Carousel Vertigo who come from Paris.
“Revenge of rock and roll” is the second album from the band and it’s one hell of a good album. Think 70s rock – Whitesnake, Bad Company, ACDC, early Status Quo and more and that will give you a pretty good idea of what to expect from the album.
The opening track is “No more hesitatin'” – check out the video here…
It’s an album you can’t listen to once – it’s one you are far more likely to play on repeat again and again. Vincent Martinex has a great voice with plenty of power (and in case you were wondering, he sings in English not French), and the music is fantastic too with a real 70s hard rock flavour but without feeling dated.
This is a fantastic album and I’d definitely recommend giving it a listen – Carousel Vertigo are a band that deserves to go on to greatness.
