Christopher Rayson is an English singer/songwriter who lives in France. He’s about to release his debut solo album, “It’s been going on”. He cites Oasis, Crowded house, Fleetwood Mac and the Beatles as influences and recorded the album in a studio in France close to where Oasis recorded “Standing on the shoulders of giants”.
As well as acoustic guitar Christopher Rayson uses electric guitars – including a Gibson and a strat style guitar, as well as a Hofner bass and Marshall amps. The resulting sound is great – the music is lovely with all the notes coming through clearly and nothing getting lost, and the levels are spot on, complementing the vocals perfectly without ever overshadowing them. This means the lyrics are easy to hear and as a result you focus more on them.
It’s a great album, not particularly heavy but perfect for listening to on those days when you’re just chilling out. Definitely well worth a listen.
“It’s been going on” will be released on 30th June 2017
