CIRCLE OF REASON – “A Favour For A Stranger”

Formed in 2009 this four piece are set to turn a few heads with this amazingly catchy and well crafted three track E.P. Described as Alternative/Prog Rock, the sound leans towards a mix of Queens Of The Stone Age meets Funeral For A Friend who then hook up with Smashing Pumpkins and Silverchair.
Track one ‘Sea Of Voices’ is a triumphant slab of beautifully melodic and hard hitting rock with ambient twists and turns thrown in for good measure, resulting in a really uplifting and addictive track, the vocals of Simon (lead) and Sam (backing) really punching through.
Track Two ‘Chasing The Sun’ again has the same warm vocal delivery but is perhaps a more Prog tinged effort but still builds and builds throughout, with some excellent drum work from Andy generating a pace sure to please any Rock fan.
The two aforementioned tracks have already been featured and showcased on such channels as Kerrang TV, Scuzz amongst others so this is definitely an indication that this is a band on the rise.
Track three ’Silver Scene’ is also accompanied by a video released in conjunction with the E.P. and again delivers an almighty serving of quality Rock with some mindblowing ‘stadiumesque’ guitar work.
This really is a band worth checking out, a band that I can’t wait to see live but until then this gem is firmly stuck on repeat on my play list.

Rating 8.5/10.
