Death valley high – Cvlt (As Fvk)

Cvlt (As Fvk) is the new album from Californian industrial rock band Death Valley High.  I have to confess they’re a band I havent listened to before, so for this review I was diving into the unknown.  After listening to the first few songs, my reaction can be descrbed as “What on earth is this?” combined with “Damn it’s good”.  The first part of that comes from the fact that this is such an unpredictable album with lots of diverse sounds included, and the second part is self explanatory.

It’s definitely an album that’s hard to describe – at times you might think it sounds like Marilyn Manson but then it throws a curveball and sounds like something else.  You’ve got some great heavy industrial guitar riffs, some electro-goth sounding keyboards, you’ve got parts that are nice and heavy and the next second it’s mixed with something danceable – as I say, it’s not an album that is easy to describe.

What is easy to say about the album is that it’s a great album.  I recommend that you check out the video for “Ick Switch” below and get a taste of what you can expect from the album.
