Deathstars came to the heavy music scene 14 years ago and their musical style varies from gothic metal to industrial synth death rock. Confused? Oh well, I think you might find everything mentioned above in their music. These Swedish guys have just released their brand new album, called ‘The Perfect Cult’.
After 14 years together they still sound very refreshing. Their fourth full-length album ‘The Perfect Cult’ is very rich sounding and dynamic, containing memorable tracks and beautifully constructed melodies with great vocals on the top. ‘The Perfect Cult’ consist of 10 songs  and is capable to hold listener’s attention from the very first to the last track on the playlist.

While they are still being judged regarding their appearance by some sceptical commentators in the motley wide Internet, their music does the job denying any doubts about how dark and deep they are. The album starts with energetic track – ‘Explode’, which a takes you straight to the point and shows of what to expect from the rest of the set. Catchy rhythm and melody, lead by deep clear vocals follows with the next song ‘Fire Galore’. This track is definitely one of the top tracks of the album, besides the top quality Deathstars sound, there is a slight hint of Laibach which makes the track even more memorable and involving. Great pick to put it in the beginning of the tracklisting – it simply does not allow you to give a thought about putting album on pause for any reason. If there is anything close to mellow or more ballad like in ‘The Perfect Cult’, then this is ‘All Devil’s Toys’, which still keeps loud, just slows down a little for a break after the very energetic start. Then the anthemic ‘Ghost Reviver’, which will stick to your mind with it’s catchy chorus. In general, this album consist loads of catchy melodies and chorus, which means, that you will not be able to forget it so fast and most likely, you will turn on again to sing along. As the band states these songs are all about their lives, who knows, maybe you can find something close to you to cry your soul out together with them?
Just right in the middle of the set there is album titled track – ‘The Perfect Cult’, which is not that usual place for this kind of track but seems to suit it well. The rest of the tracks dynamically waves from fast rock’n’roll like, to sing along anthem and marches again until the end. There is no way, it is possible to get bored through all of this.

Reviewers pick: ‘Fire Galore’, the second track of the album. Extremely catchy, memorable and deep dark at the same time track, which easily stands out from the rest.
