The first Download announcement of 2015 is upon us – and what a stellar bill it’s turning out to be!
Andrew WK, In Flames, Testament, We Are Harlot and L7 lead the latest addition to the bill which also includes Black Star Riders, Thunder, former KISS guitarist Ace Frehley and the recently reformed The Ghost Inside.
Andrew WK will make his debut appearance this year and says: “I’m totally chuffed about playing and partying at my first ever Download. I’ve no doubt that it will be partier than even the partiest party I’ve ever been to.”
In Flames singer Anders Friden adds: “It will be fantastic to be back on UK soil. Download has always been a great festival. We’re looking forward to meeting friends and playing our take on heavy metal in front of some of the greatest fans that there is.”
After announcing recently that they were looking to reform with the help of their fans, L7 have achieved what they set out to do and will play their first confirmed UK show in fifteen years,
We Are Harlot is the outfit of former Asking Alexandria singer Danny Worsnop who announced last week he was leaving the metalcore band to concentrate on WaH, whilst King 810 will finally attempt to play the festival after last year’s set was cancelled when their singer and bassist were arrested as they tried to leave the US.
Ace Frehley’s appearance will, of course see him play alongside/in competition with his former bandmates as they close the festival on the Sunday night. He says: “I’m really looking forward to rockin’ out in the UK at Download. It’s been seven years since my last appearance and my new band kicks ass.”
The announcement is rounded off with southern American rockers Hellyeah, Fearless Vampire Killers, All That Remains, Defeater, Evil Scarecrow, Stray from the Path, Gnarwolves, Chelsea Grin, Hands Like Houses, Creeper, Blood Youth, Bombus, and the solo project from former Creed and current Alter Bridge member Mark Tremonti.
Download Festival takes place from June 12-14th and will showcase headline sets from Slipknot, Muse and Kiss with Motley Crue, Faith No More, Judas Priest, Enter Shikari, Lamb of God and many others also taking to the stage. Full details and links to buy tickets can be found here.
