Ever wanted to get married at Download? Well now you can! (well, unofficially at least…)
It’s one of the new entertainment features at the Donington festival this year to be placed in the Village – an inflatable Church for all of your matrimonial needs. But that’s not all – you will also find this year Heavy Metal Speed Dating, a beer and real ale house called Hair of the Dog (go figure), Bogan Bingo, Laser Tag and even a circus workshop. Bring on the oil drums and baseball bats…
In the main Arena this year you’ll also find the brand new Dog’s Bed Stage – Download’s version of open mic. Yep, they’ll provide the instruments and all you have to do is bring the talent! Other additions include new pop-up art galleries and sculptures, mask making workshops all weekend, Kiss face painting, the return of the Good Food Guide, Demolition Download plus Seat of Luxury and the famed carved totem moves into the Arena this year to allow yourselves to fix it with a personalised padlock.
This follows the awesome news this week that an invitation to the stars of Progress Wrestling to appear at Download was accepted, and you’ll be able to see the entire roster from 12am-2am every single night of the festival in the Village, and if THAT wasn’t enough, Rasputin’s Caravan of Lost Souls will be roaming the arena this weekend, the walk from the village and the Doghouse to keep you on your toes! Phew!
