Download Festival gives us a batch of new bands!

It seems like forever since Download Festival last made an announcement of bands, but good things come to those who wait and the bigwigs have officially made their first announcement of 2017 – and what an announcement!

48 new bands have been added to the bill including several big names across all four stages. Strap yourselves in, here we go….

On this year’s Main Stage, A Day to Remember will be disrespecting all surroundings on Saturday whilst Steel Panther will be bringing all of the willy puns before Alter Bridge on Sunday. Sabaton, fresh off the back of their biggest UK to date this month, will join the shenanigans on the Friday along with Northlane and there’s also room for CreeperIn FlamesHacktivist and The Cadillac Three.

Over on the Zippo Encore Stage there’s the raw power of Baroness, the crossover bounce of Suicidal Tendencies, the silliness of Alestorm, the frenzy of Kvelertak, the crush of Clutch and the might of Anathema.

Things get exciting on the Avalanche Stage; headlining on the Sunday, giving us their final ever UK festival show, are The Dillinger Escape Plan who will ensure there isn’t a tent left after they’re done. They’re joined by State ChampsThe Devil Wears PradaM O S E S, As It Is, Trash BoatMoose BloodThe King BluesTouche AmoreDinosaur Pile UpDead!Blood YouthGrove Street Families and Wallflower.
