DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL: The app, more bands and the Doghouse!

Six weeks until Download Festival. Yep, you read that right. Six. SIX. And with time until the gates open getting ever shorter, this year’s official DOWNLOAD 2014 APP has been released for iPhone and Android, featuring all the latest news, information and advice needed to make this year the best one yet (the online map is coming soon, hold fire for that one).

And as if that wasn’t enough, they’ve gone and announced even MORE bands!

Most of the new names are taking part on this year’s Jägermeister Acoustic Stage including such Donington heavyweights as Bowling For Soup, Anathema, The Answer and Ginger Wildheart.

Joining them will be Queens of the Stone Age bassist Nick Oliveri, acoustic multi-instrumental magician Jon Gomm, former Little Angels and Gun singer Toby Jepson, Reuben frontman Jamie Lenman, InMe’s folkster-by-night Dave McPherson, one-man math rock machine Theo and Swedish bombshell Mia Klose.

Also featruing on the Acoustic Stage are; Brother&Bones, The Mercy House, Oxygen Thief, Stormbringer, Ducking Punches, Enemo-J, Fizzy Blood, Milk Teeth, New City Kings, Rival Sons, VerseChorusVerse and Richards/Crane

As mentioned above, joining the line-up elsewhere will be California’s own Rival Sons, I Am Fire and self-described Southern gothic fuzz rockers Bloody Hammers.

Away from the main musical feast, the Download Village will prove the rest of the on site entertainment, including after hours madness in Download’s very own raucous nightclub, the Doghouse, where star DJs and one-of-a-kind club nights will keep the party going even after the live music has finished.

You know what to do guys – get planning, download the app, sort out your travel, buy your ticket (if you haven’t already, you lazybones!) and get to Donington. This will be electric.
