It’s been a long time coming, but it’s only a few days until Elles Bailey releases her eagerly awaited fourth studio album Beneath The Neon Glow on August 9th 2024 via Cooking Vinyl Records and has also released a single taken from it, ‘1972’.
The song and accompanying video perfectly captures the vibe of that year, and only being nine years old at the time, some memories from that year still shine bright. The song blows the clouds away with three, short but sweet minutes of funk drenched feelgood vibes of delightful earworms.
Elles describes ‘1972’ as “A lively country-funk track, inspired by the desire to embrace the present moment. We live in a World where so much time is spent looking down at our phones or trying to capture an occasion through the lens that sometimes we forget to live in that moment, perhaps like they did in 1972”.

I love that I get to take it around the World. So if I can continue to do that, and just play to larger audiences and continue to grow, that’s exactly what I’ll do.”
