Officially premiered via Stereogum on Wednesday, Brighton’s Esben and the Witch have returned with a primal, stark video for ‘No Dog’. The track is taken from the trio’s forthcoming split 12” with Bristol’s Thought Forms, due April 7 on Geoff Barrow’s Invada Records.
The clip, which focuses in on a particularly intense performance of ‘No Dog’, perfectly captures the tumultuous nature of the band’s live show: the volatile propulsion of their rhythm section, the unsettling dissonance of Thomas Fisher’s cacophonous guitar, and, at the eye of the storm, Rachel Davies’ lone, unadorned voice.

Alongside this, the band have also announced plans for a string of shows from March to August – with more soon to be announced – including a headline date at London’s Buffalo Bar, slots at Oxfordshire’s Supernormal Festival and the Cult of Luna-curated Beyond the Redshift (alongside Thought Forms), as well as a live performance of the La Antena score at Latitude.
- March 29 – Buffalo Bar, London
- May 10 – Beyond the Redshift Festival, London
- July 19 – Latitude Festival, Southwold (performing live score to La Antena)
- August 8-10 – Supernormal Festival, Oxfordshire
