Fahran are set to play the New Blood Stage at this years Bloodstock festival on Friday the 9th August.
We catch up with the band to find out more about them, the festival, their thoughts and what you lucky Bloodstock go-er’s will see!
Can you give the readers a quick introduction to the band.
Fahran are a five piece rock band from Derbyshire. Our line-up includes Nick Whitcroft (vocals), Jake Graham (guitar), Chris Byrne (guitar), Alex Stroud (bass/backing vocals) and JR Windsor (drums).
How would you describe your sound.
The most obvious influences on the band would be bands like Shinedown, Alter Bridge, Black Stone Cherry and so on. We’ve always really liked the formula of drums, bass, guitar, vocals and song-writing and tried to do our own take on it. Hopefully that comes across in the music.
Why did you want to become part of the New Blood Stage line up?
Bloodstock has always been one that we’ve wanted to play! Whilst we’re not necessarily a metal band, individually we listen to a lot of that genre, so some of that sound comes into our music. We think it will go down well.
What was your initial reaction when you found out you were playing on the New Blood Stage?
Shock! Then celebrate with a cup of tea…..I mean beer…..
What can the audience expect from you at the festival.
The same to expect from every gig we do, a kick ass rock show!
What has been the bands biggest achievement so far?
It’s hard to say really. Playing Download for the first time earlier this year was pretty epic.
Have you ever been to Bloodstock before? If so when and what did you enjoy most about it.
Nah, this is my first time here. Can’t wait though!
What is your opinion of the Bloodstock line-up.
The headline acts this year are awesome! Also can’t wait to see Gojira, Hell, Anthrax, Exodus, Firewind, and the list goes on.
What are you looking forward to most at Bloodstock.
Well obviously playing, but it’ll be great to have a chat and a beer with some of the fans at bloodstock.
Can you sum up Bloodstock in one sentence!
A weekend of heavy fuckin’ metal! \m/
Any message you wish to pass on to the PM readers
Good to talk to you and see you at Bloodstock…. Chris
