UK alt-rockers FALSE HEARTS are going from strength to strength. The band have released their killer new EP, Remedy, out now. The highly rated four piece have also just released a stunning new track and video, also called, Remedy – https://youtu.be/GJpoqCnRS60 . With all of this in mind, we asked the band to introduce themselves:
What is the full band line-up, who sings and who plays which instrument?
Emma Hodgson – Vocals / Guitar
Ali Westwood – Guitar
Phil Benton – Bass / Backing Vocals
Adi Bowes – Drums / Backing Vocals
How and when did the band form?
Emma and Adi met through a previous music project and were introduced through a mutual friend, we then advertised for a guitarist via Facebook where we met Ali, we didn’t need to meet anyone else and we knew from the offset this was our guitarist, then still in search of a bass player the manager of a local rehearsal studio was more than happy to take on the new project, after a year or so our previous bass player later left the band to focus on family, we then advertised again and quickly met Phil who we gelled with instantly and the transition was seamless adding his own flair and ideas to the band, the rest is history.
Ali had grown up in Birmingham before moving south with his family. All members were living in Cambridgeshire, home to Pink Floyd, Katrina & the waves & Lonely the Brave.
Who are your musical influences?
Halestorm, Shinedown, Black stone cherry, Muse, In This Moment, Foo Fighters, Matchbox 20
Where did the name of the band come from?
After a lot of back and forth of what band name we are liked that wasn’t already in use for a band Ali found a book called False Hearts by Laura Lam and we all instantly loved the name.
How far back does your history with each other (the band members) extend?
Are you friends from school or any family relations?
We all met through music / the band but we have now formed a lifelong friendship.
In your opinion, how is your band different from all the other bands out there?
Our music and vocal style we feel is different from most, we can’t place a band we sound like or are similar to as many of our songs are different from each other. Also the progression of the members, we were all very nervous and stage shy and our fans have witness the journey as our confidence and love for the music grows.
If a deaf person were to ask you to describe the sound of your music, how would you describe it?
Powerful melodic rock with high energy
