Father, pre-Bloodstock festival interview

Father  is set to convert the New Blood Stage on Saturday 11th at this year’s Bloodstock.

We catch up with Pinky to find out more about them, the festival and what you lucky Bloodstock go-er’s will see!

Can you give the readers a quick introduction to the band?

Pinky: Hello, and thank you for this interview!

We are FATHER from Croatia (Mihael Prosen-vocals, Davor Tomić Pinky-guitar, Franjo Jardas-bass, Dario Pažanin-guitar and Marko Jurić-drums).

The band started back in the year 2000 when Pinky and Mihael separated from their previous band with the wish of making something more with their musicianship through a fresh start with a new line up. Back then, we were influenced by Metal and Grunge bands we all liked (Metallica, Sepultura, SOAD, Faith No More, Mr.Bungle, Korn, Deftones, Incubus, Pantera, Alice In Chains…), thoug every one of us had in some way different favourite artists, which, in every case influenced FATHER to sound the way it sounds – a mix of metal, rock, grunge, nu metal, disco, pop etc.

Have you ever been to Bloodstock before?

No, it’s our first time, and we are very excited about it!

Why did you want to become part of the New Blood Stage line up?

Well, we sure wanted to be on the main stage, but that’s not the way it works, right? So we’ve seen a chance in a BOA-battle of the bands in Croatia, and we won our slot…

What was your initial reaction when you found out you where playing on the New Blood Stage?

A glimmer of hope I guess.

What is your opinion of the Bloodstock lineup?

As the majority of the audience, I believe, I will enjoy most of the main stage artists, though I’ve never heard of almost any band that’ll perform at “Sophie Lancaster” stage, but that’s probably just me…

What are you looking forward to most at Bloodstock?

Concerning the bands – Sepultura, Crowbar, Testament, Dimmu Borgir, Machine Head, Paradise Lost, Iced Earth, Behemoth, Anvil…

And concerning Father – to meet new cool people, to meet some of “the players” in the business in hope to make it to the next level…

What can the audience expect from you at the festival?

They can expect the one best thing we have to offer: our songs and our energy.

Can you sum up Bloodstock in one sentence?

Well, we’ve never been to BOA, but in one sentence we believe it’s a Blasting Live Outdoor Outrage Dynamite Sexy True Overwhelmingly Cool Knockout!!

Any message you wish to pass on to the PM readers?

Stay cool, stay true!!

Thank you for taking the time out to complete this interview, we are looking forward to seeing you at Bloodstock \m/
