God Hate Code, ‘Weltenschmerz’

Prepare to be pummelled by this latest album from the German Extreme Death Metal scenes brightest stars for some time.
11 tracks of pure brutality and malice delivered with real passion and mastery, sadly lacking in many bands of this genre. Tracks such as ‘Schone Freude’ and ‘Feine Gaben’ are real full throttle Death Metal anthems, where as the slightly slower paced ‘Der Wert’ and album closer ‘Todessog’ could quite easily appeal to a much wider audience.
Formed in 2007 the band have inevitably been tagged the Rammstein of Death Metal but apart from the lyrics being in German the comparisons stop there, this band have more than enough talent in their own locker to be able to stand tall alongside their counterparts.
If you like your Metal dark and brutal you could do a lot worse than check this release out.

Rating: 8/10.

Released via Noisehead Records 14th April 2012.
