‘Hold Your Head Up’ will be the final single from GUN’s album ‘Frantic’, released earlier this year. The Scottish rockers will round off the year with the release of a special box set (details below) and two epic live shows in Manchester and Glasgow this December. A live video (shot at The Barras) for the single is streaming now. Watch it below:
Lead singer Dante Gizzi says: “It’s been a pretty incredible year for us which saw the release our sixth studio album ‘Frantic’. We’re so proud of what we’ve achieved, reconnecting, rebuilding and engaging with our fans was our ultimate aim and I think we accomplished that.”
‘Hold Your Head Up’, is about trying to stay positive after falling on hard times, and the struggles people often find themselves facing – particularly poignant at this time of year.
Their upcoming show in Manchester sees the band playing alongside New Model Army to commemorate 25 years of the Academy. Then they hit theGlasgow’s Barrowland Ballroom – “the best live venue in the world” – for the second time in 2015 to close the year in style. “There aren’t many bands who can say they’ve the played the Barras twice in one year, and for that reason this show is going to be extra special,” Dante adds.
GUN’s contemporary take on authentic rock gave them an edge over their peers. Formed in Glasgow by the Gizzi brothers, they came to re-invent the rock ‘n’ roll genre, and garnered numerous plaudits and awards, including the first ever MTV Europe Music Award for Best Cover. Over the years the band have toured the world with acts such as The Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi, Simple Minds, Bryan Adams and Def Leppard.
