HACKTIVIST drop surprise new mixtape, announce UNFD signing and tour dates with ISSUES

Cutting-edge UK 5-piece HACKTIVIST have released a mixtape featuring remixes, covers and previously unheard material via SoundCloud.

Listen to the mixtape here: https://soundcloud.com/unfdcentral/hacktivist-mixtape-december-2015

The mixtape was initially given away exclusively to fans who came out to dates on their recent UK tour as an early treat by handing out cards that gave access to a private stream. Guitarist Timfy James explains: “As we await the final processing stage of the album to be completed, we thought we’d upload a mashup H mix of a few covers and old and new sounds. Just as a little thank-you from H for sticking with us.”

The mixtape precedes Hacktivist’s long-awaited debut album, which will be released worldwide on UNFD in Spring 2016 (UNFD/Rise Records in the USA).

The band comment: “We’re excited to be working with UNFD (and also Rise Records in the US) for our debut album. We’ve known the UNFD guys for a while as they released our mini-album in Australia; as big fans of Northlane, In Hearts Wake and a lot of the other stuff they release, we can’t believe we’re able to join the family properly and smash the fuck out of 2016.”

Mixtape Tracklisting:

2. Blades (Timfyjames/Cold VIP)
3. Happy Birthday Dimebag

Following the release of their debut EP in 2012, Hacktivist have been on a whirlwind journey that’s seen them perform at Download Festival, Reading Festival twice, tour with Korn, headline a Download Freezes Over tour, headline a stage at BIG69 Festival in Mumbai and much more. 2015 has been non-stop for the quintet, who performed at Hit The Deck, UK Tech-Fest, 2000 Trees, Y Not Festival, Hevy Fest, Butserfest, toured with both Enter Shikari and SikTh, and headlined a show at Community London. Hacktivist’s online presence is also impressive, with the Elevate video recently hit over 1 million views on YouTube.
