The hotly tipped heavyweights have also just wooed audiences at the Jarocin Festival, sharing the stage with Vader, as well as at PolandRock, where they captured electrifying coverage of the performance here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZI86qhNM-8 .
Drawing from a powerful kinship and liking for the back catalogues of Slayer, Anthrax, Behemoth, and Venom, as well as the old school punk scene of their Polish homeland, HAMULEC (pronounced ‘Ha-moo-lets’) set loose a richly rewarding brand of thrash punk layered with blackened tones and strong originality. Bursting out of Będzin, Poland, and comprised of brothers Mikołaj (Vocals and Guitar) and Filip Karolewski (Drums), along with old friends, Kacper Sobczyk (Bass), and Kuba Habrat (Lead Guitar), the early beginnings of HAMULEC can be traced to 2018. It was in 2020, however, when the irrepressible quartet placed themselves on the map, with their debut single, Generacja. Ever since then, the darkened punk thrashers have consistently released a flurry of albums and singles that have resulted with HAMULEC amassing nearly one million streams on Spotify. In regard to social media numbers, the band are one of the fastest-growing metal artists in Poland. HAMULEC are not just about strong streaming numbers and Instagram followers though. They have also constantly toured throughout Poland, which has resulted in building them a strong and dedicated fanbase. The unstoppable hard-hitters have just played a handful of shows with UK trailblazers, Wargasm. The band have also just undertaken explosive live sets at two of Poland’s biggest festivals: PolandRock and Jarocin.
With a growing live reputation for selling out shows, the Polish punks are now gearing up for the release of their next single, Stos. The band remark about the track: “It’s a powerful exploration of the terrifying force of a crowd. Inspired by the fear of standing against a mob, this song delves into the aggression of a mass that burns everything in its path. The video was recorded in the eerie setting of an abandoned building during a heavy storm; it’s really raw and intense.”
With a stunning single and video in hand and plans to hit the rest of Europe and the UK, HAMULEC’s continued rise is imminent.
