HEVY FEST 2016: dates, new location and first bands confirmed!

HEVY FESTIVAL 2016 is very excited to announce that it will take place on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th August 2016 at a brand new site in Newhaven, Derbyshire.

Chosen in response to fan feedback, the new site is right in the centre of the country, providing easy access from all over the UK.

With a history of booking bands ranging from Andrew W.K. to Meshuggah, not forgetting other huge names including Thrice, Coheed & Cambria, Converge and The Dillinger Escape Plan, Hevy has built a strong reputation for delivering diverse and ambitious line-ups, and 2016 will be no exception. Four headliners plus over 50 great bands and DJs will perform across the two days, there will be a great range of food outlets and a glamping option for those who like to do festivals in style!

With ample room for expansion at the new site, Hevy is set to reclaim its title as the UK’s best medium sized out-door festival in 2016. Although change is exciting, it’s not without a heavy heart that Hevy moves on from Port Lympne. Festival Director James Dutton reflects on the festival’s partnership with the wildlife park and their great charity work together:

“Hevy Fest has been held at Port Lympne since 2010. During that time we’ve raised over £100,000 to help fund the incredible work The Aspinall Foundation do in protecting and re-populating the world’s most endangered species. It’s been an honour to work alongside their dedicated team, but 2015 marks our last year at the site.”

The animal reserve is currently undergoing transformation into a day trip & holiday destination. With various construction projects underway, the land is no longer a suitable venue for a music festival in 2016. James continues:

“Searching for a new site has given us the opportunity to explore a more central location in the UK, which is something our fans have been requesting. Our new home at Newhaven, Derbyshire offers much easier access from all corners of the UK, and a stunning setting for our small festival. We can’t wait to show you what we have in store…”

Tickets are priced at £79, with a small batch of early bird tickets still available. There is also a pay monthly finance option should you wish to spread the cost. Purchase tickets here:
