Henry is a UK-based grade 8 drummer and multi-instrumentalist who specialises in covering rock and pop music tracks on his YouTube channel, as well as sharing his own original music. Despite Henry only joining YouTube in November 2019, his talent and professional approach has attracted over 61.2k subscribers to his channel, resulting in his videos being viewed over 6.9million times!

With consistent weekly uploads and endearing playing styles, Henry has amounted a strong social media following through his YouTube videos. “I’ve a lot of inspirations, but my top two are Joey Jordison who used to be in Slipknot and The Rev who used to be in Avenged Sevenfold”

What are you working on at the moment?

“I’m working on some industrial metal and some avenged Sevenfold covers”

What is your favourite song to perform?

“My favourite song to perform is ‘Wait and Bleed’ by Slipknot

What do you enjoy most about being a drummer?

“The thing I enjoy most about being a drummer is that I can explore different genres of music”

Who would you most like to collaborate with?

“I would love to collaborate with my favourite drummer Joey Jordison”

What advice would you give to young drummers?

“I’d advice to be consistent with your practice and enjoy yourself”

What can we expect to see in the next six months?

“You can expect to see more complicated covers and more of my original music” 

 

Henry’s music, whether they are covers or originals, are versatile and accessible to a wide range of music lovers. Covering heavy metal artists such as Slipknot and Avenged Sevenfold, slick pop stars such as Dua Lipa and BTS as well as cool indie-rock artists like the Black Keys and Bryan Adams, Henry displays a mature and diverse level of genre interest.

Further showing his adaptability skills, Henry has already collaborated with two fellow YouTube artists, taking on challenging songs to show his mature level of playing. Joining forces with vocalists Arthur Horeanu to cover Nickleback’s ‘How You Remind Me’ and Aris to cover the ever-so-notorious ‘Zombie’ by The Cranberries.

Amongst all of this, Henry still finds the time to compose original music! Released earlier this year, Henry shared his original track, ‘139BPM’, which sees him perform his flawless drumming style over synthesised chords, slowly building up to a heavy, modulated soundscape. Already showing savvy song writing skills at 12 years old, Henry is well on his way to solidifying his fresh and unique style.
