Joanne proclaims,”I always loved the desperation of the lyrics and thought it could make a Blues/Gospel song if performed differently.”
I think her version is a shimmering, almost shuffle like performance as her throaty vocals swoop and soar over her sumptuous guitar lines and her backing musicians play their part as they add earworm guitar lines and a watertight rhythm section.
