Blues Goddess Joanne Shaw Taylor releases ‘Change Of Heart’, the final and most personal single taken from her forthcoming studio album Heavy Soul, due out on June 7th 2024, via Joe Bonamassa’s Journeyman Records.
Joanne adds,”Change Of Heart is one of my favourite songs on the album. It’s about meeting someone who makes you want to risk your heart again, despite past hurts. Lyrics were shared with legendary songwriter Beth Nielsen Chapman and her lyrical genius really brought the emotion of the song to life”.
My thoughts on ‘Change Of Heart’ are, “The bright and breezy intro begins with a lyric of “Let my guard down, love has found me, gets me everytime”, heralding exhilarating choruses that give a message of hope in the lyrics, swirling keyboards and doo wop like handclaps, but of course, her guitar prowess shines bright, stealing the spotlight with choppy chords and a midway solo that left me breathless!”
