Record Store Day began in the US in 2007 when over 700 independent stores in the USA came together to celebrate their unique culture, the UK soon followed suit and on April 19th 2014 will see the seventh celebration of the UK’s unique independent sector.
All of the independently owned record stores come together with artists to celebrate the art of music – with special vinyl and CD releases and various promotional products are being made exclusively for the day.

The ‘Kocytean‘ vinyl (Cat. No: VILES504) features 6 tracks, containing rarities from the Swedish band’s more recent period of recorded output; from 2006’s ‘Code Against the Code’ & ‘Unfurl’ (from the era of breakthrough release ‘The Great Cold Distance’) up to ‘The Act of Darkening’ & ‘Second’, recorded during the period of the band’s recent acclaimed masterpiece, 2012’s ‘Dead End Kings’. ‘Kocytean’ also includes sumptuous artwork courtesy of the band’s long-time visual collaborator, Travis Smith.
