Krysthla Premiere Lyric Video ‘Luminosity’; Mammothfest Announcement

Featuring former members of UK metal heavyweights GUTWORM and DEADEYE – Krysthla’s crushing debut album will resonate with fans who like their metal on the dark side but layered with sonic soundscapes that explore musical boundaries and pushes the envelope as to what British metal is.

Founding member/guitarist Neil Hudson says “After we finished with Gutworm in 2010, songs were already slowly being pieced together with a new sound and approach in mind. This also included a new vocalist in Adi Mayes (former frontman of Deadeye and prior to that, Violation).

It was really important to get the line up right.  After auditioning other members it soon became clear that only the original Gutworm line up with the addition of Adi could physically deliver what Krysthla required.

The material on this record is set in a more grounded yet ethereal realm as it deals with the darkness within life and forces the listener to question their lives, what they know and what they take for granted. Challenging people’s perception of their own existence and how they live their lives is a tough thing to approach as everybody feels perversely safe in their own little grief hole. Things don’t, and will never change unless you think outside the box and are prepared to live outside it. The world is more squared than you realise…….

The songs themselves focus on world and political events and the ancient rites attached to them that we as a people in a modern age partake in willingly. With such a deep and expansive subject matter the music had to manifest this in a physical form which naturally led us to the hellish blend of unrelenting heaviness but with texture, colour and groove.”

Krysthla have signed European and worldwide distribution deals with Plastic Head (PHD) which will see the album stocked in record stores across the UK as well being available via digital distributers including iTunes, Amazon and Spotify worldwide.

Krysthla’s three track sampler EP ‘A Thousand Points Of Light’ was released in 2013 and after two years writing new material, the band’s evolution has been realised with this astonishing debut album which takes extreme metal to new heights and is truly British.

During breaks from recording the debut album, Krysthla embarked on a number of select UK dates which has seen the band stunning audiences and receiving critical acclaim from the press:

“You are left with the feeling that not only you have been treated to something special, but you feel lucky to have survived a premeditated assault upon your senses” – Daarkartz

‘A War Of Souls And Desires’ was engineered and mastered by Neil Hudson at Initiate Audio and Media Studios. Produced by Neil Hudson and Krysthla with all music performed by Krysthla. The debut album is released 25th September 2015 via Plastic Head Distribution.
