Hot on the heals of announcement number 2 we are pleased to bring you our 3rd instalment of announcements and we are really pulling out the stops to make this the best award winning Rock and Metal Festival, Scotland has ever seen.
Sparing no expense we fly across the North sea to bring you not one but two of Sweden’s top exports. First up we have the finest low down, dirty and mean rock and rollers, Bonafide, they are going to close the festival this year and we have no doubt they will “Fill your head with Rock”.
Joining them from Stockholm and the complete opposite end of the Rock/Metal spectrum, are Progressive Death Metallers, Descend. It is not often these guys get over to the UK and this is an exclusive UK festival performance and a rare treat.
We are also delighted to announce and completing our top two Sunday slots, the absolutely brilliant live band JettBlack again helping to cement our position as a “must do festival”.
Last year we had one band pull out that we knew many people wanted to see, unfortunately this was down to events out with everyone’s control so it is great news to finally have Northwest based Ravenface, grace the Les-Fest 2 stage in 2013. They will be joined by the rather excellent Manchester based Babylon Fire, who will be out on the road next year promoting their recently released album Dark Horizons.
Another couple of bands that are causing a stir right now and sure to be big in 2013 are Skarlett Riot, receiving critical acclaim in Kerrang Magazine you can catch their latest offerings on both Kerrang TV and Scuzz hailing from Lincolnshire, we recommend that you catch their show live.
Hot on their heals, are hard rockers The Goddamn Electric. Like most bands at Les-Fest we like to check them out live and these guys blew us away at the recent Highway to Hell Event in Glasgow, delighted to have them on the bill.
Back to the fact that we will continue to showcase rising Scottish talent we have a couple of local acts within this announcement, both bands having recently played out in Lesmahagow to give us the chance to take a look and have a listen. First up we have Glasgow based and award nominated Mercury Underground, who have very much their own take on the “Classic Rock” sound. Secondly we have the Lanarkshire band Terminal Oath who can only be described as a no nonsense Metal band. Just the way we like it.
Finally to conclude this one we are bringing back another couple of bands from last year, partly because they were great live bands but also because there was strong demand. First up are local lads – yes Lesmahagow – Dana O’Hara, they will be back over the weekend bringing their brand of Melodic, Death, Power Metal, to the valley and they will be joined by recent Highway to Hell prize winners Fire In The Empire, you can catch them early in 2013 at Hammerfest
So the current confirmed line up to date is: Achren, Afterlife, Altered Sky, Artisfiction, Babylon Fire, Bonafide, Bisongrass, Bull-Riff Stampede, Dana O’Hara, Descend, Derision, Estrella, Evile, Excellent Cadaver, Firebrand Super Rock, Fire in the Empire, Furyon, The Goddamn Electric, JettBlack, Karybdis, MadHatter 2.0, MAIR, Massive Wagons, Mercury Underground, Monument, PEEPSHOW, Primitai, Ravenface, Skarlett Riot, Sarah Jezebel Deva, Severenth, Sinocence, Skam, Slam Cartel, Terminal Oath, Urban Myth, Virus.
So there you have it! That is now 37 bands confirmed for 2013.
Still a good few Main Stage acts to announce and a further 20 acts for the Rock for Funds Stage.
Early bird discounted tickets are still available from a ridiculously cheap £30 for the weekend and £40 including camping, but prices will rise after mid December or whenever they have sold out, whichever comes first! Click here for tickets
