The Lounge Kittens reveal album artwork and announce 2016 tour.

The internet’s favourite cover girls, The Lounge Kittens, have revealed the artwork for debut album ‘Sequins & C-Bombs’ to be released on 16 September 2016, but despite showing more skin than photographer Paul Harries bargained for, they’re keeping further details of what’s on the album completely under wraps.

“We can’t tell you what songs are on there yet” says Pink Kitten, Zan “but we can tell you that yes, it’s all covers and yes, there’s loads of new stuff and several curveballs we’re particularly excited about.”

After shooting the steamy cover photos (in a freezing cold studio) there was much deliberation as to just how sexy the album cover image should be “’We are girls. We are silly girls that make silly faces. We can occasionally look pretty. We give you ‘pretty girl, silly face’.” Jen, the Red one, tells us. “The album cover is the first thing that people see, before you even hear the music; it represents what the album means and who the band or artist ARE. Paul took loads of beautiful shots of us but we decided out and out ‘sexy’ just doesn’t suit us. We want people to know that picking up that album is going to result in unprecedented levels of fun.”

“To be honest, we were more excited about getting the Parental Advisory label on there. That was the moment it felt like a PROPER album” Zan assures us“You can keep your glamour, we just want people to know it’s got swears.”

As they set off for a summer filled with festival appearances, as well as a stint at the Edinburgh Fringe performing their sarcastic, self-deprecating show ‘Everybody Hates The Lounge Kittens’ which sees them navigate through the minefield of cyberspace, the saucy songstresses are clearly ecstatic to be getting out and about for the rest of the year. “It feels like we’ve been stuck in the studio FORVER. It was totally worth it, but we can’t wait to get back out and make some people laugh” bounces Jen

Whether they’re touring the world’s biggest arenas with heavy metallers, poncing about at festivals or hanging out in the back room of their local pub,The Lounge Kittens’ only mission is to make you snort-laugh till you’re sick. Something they hope to do a lot more of when they hit the road in October.“It’s been over a year since we were fully on tour and this is our biggest, most widespread headline tour yet” says Blue Kitten, Timia. “We all really took to life on the road; it’s a state of being that we’ve REALLY missed – personally I can’t wait to reignite all our lovely co-dependency issues that we develop from living in each other’s pockets. We’ll all be communicating telepathically and talking exclusively in in-jokes by the end of it…we’ll be even more intolerable than usual. Can’t wait.”
