God bless the blues and all its majesty, so let’s welcome Marcus Trummer, a 23 year old singer/guitarist and songwriter from Calgary, Alberta, Canada who has just released Waiting For Change, the second single taken from his upcoming debut studio album From The Start, released on Friday, November 15th, 2024 via Gypsy Soul Records.
Marcus proclaims,”I wrote Waiting For Change after feeling powerless to change things going on in society and in politics that I felt weren’t right”.
To my ears it’s an astonishing four minutes of beauty, point proven by a song that’s so laid back, it’s practically horizontal. Marcus delivers a sassy and also classy lead vocal with a confident delivery that gets right under your skin and he hits a precisely picked guitar solo midway to add a touch of venom.
