Mask of Judas are set to play the New Blood Stage at this years Bloodstock festival on Saturday the 10th August.
We catch up with the band to find out more about them, the festival, their thoughts and what you lucky Bloodstock go-er’s will see!
Can you give the readers a quick introduction to the band.
Mask of Judas features, Jo Challen on vocals, myself (Sam Bell) and Reece Fullwood on guitars, George Bell on Bass, and Jof Walsh on drums.
How would you describe your sound
Heavy low 8 string riffs, low growls, melodic singing, techy guitar antics, groove, and hopefully something a little bit different than you’ve heard before.
Why did you want to become part of the New Blood Stage line up?
We were asked to play by Simon who runs the New Blood stage at Bloodstock, it’s a huge honour to be playing. It’s an amazing opportunity for new and upcoming bands to be exposed to new audiences, so we are very excited and honoured to be playing.
What was your initial reaction when you found out you were playing on the New Blood Stage?
I called around my band, made sure everyone was reading the same email as I was. Beer was consumed at some point I think…We were ecstatic!
What can the audience expect from you at the festival.
We will be having a great time on stage, we love playing live. You can expect a fun stage show, hopefully a tight performance and a barrage of melodic, groovy and techy hooks.
What has been the bands biggest achievement so far?
Playing this stage has to be our biggest achievement so far, hence why we’re so excited!
Have you ever been to Bloodstock before? If so when and what did you enjoy most about it.
We haven’t been before; we’re really looking forward to going. It’s awesome to be playing, but it’s also awesome to be going to a festival we haven’t been to before with such an amazing line up.
What is your opinion of the Bloodstock line-up.
It’s an awesome line up, so much variety. Many bands that we have wanted to see for a long time, all in one place.
What are you looking forward to most at Bloodstock.
Tough question, I know I am looking forward to Lamb of God, Gojira, Scar Symmetry, Xerath, Anthrax, and plenty more!
Can you sum up Bloodstock in one sentence!
Everything, in a field, at once, and its all happening?!
