Matt Pearce And The Mutiny set sail to release a video single for ‘Promised Land’, taken from ‘The Soul Food Store’ Album, released in 2022.
It’s a silky performance of four luscious minutes of rock and raunch. A tight but loose rhythm section lays the foundations for the rest of the band to fire out some fiery funk from catchy riffs, fiery guitar solos and sublime choruses.
Matt Pearce proclaims,”It’s a Latin-grooved single featuring sultry, smooth Santana-esque rhythms and a standout guitar solo with lyrics that are possibly about religious epiphany or perhaps something carnal. I’ll let the listener decide. The song was written during the lockdown which inspired the opening line “For 40 days and forty nights, I’ve been walking a wasteland”.
