British AOR band Moritz were formed in 1986 before splitting in the early 90s. In 2007 though the band reformed, and released the album ‘City streets’ in 2008, then in 2010 released the album ‘Undivided’ which got a great reception from the fans. Now they’ve released a new album – SOS, and what an album it is.
After seeing their great performance at HRH AOR I was certainly looking forward to hearing the new album. This is their best work yet – it’s a stunningly good album that just begs to be listened to repeatedly (which is exactly what I’ve been doing for the last few days).
Brief comments on a few tracks…
The album kicks off with ‘Fire. A great rock song with a strong chorus. It really gets the album off to a great start.
‘Mercury falling’ is a great AOR track – some great vocals and has a guitar section that really reminds me of Queen combine in a really impressive song.
The last track on the album is title track ‘SOS’. It’s got a Bon Jovi ballad feel to the early part of the song before the pace changes slightly and the power picks up and is yet another great track on the album.
This really is a stunningly good album – every single song is top quality, the music is polished and the vocals are excellent, and the album really is an essential purchase for all fans of AOR.
