Unstoppable Brit trio, NEVERSAID, are ready to kick on with the release of their highly absorbing new EP, Bond Over Blood, out now. The band have also revealed their engulfing new video and single, Fall Short – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=foLC0XhhGG4 . With the three-piece on the rise, we caught up with the band to find out more:
What is the full-band lineup?
Logan Samuel – vocals, Jordan Hibbert – guitar, Koda Boyce – bass.
When did the band form?
The band formed in 2020 in Southeast London from the remains of a previous project.
When did the band really start gelling/solidifying?
The current line-up of Neversaid came together in 2023, when Jordan and Koda joined the band, and we really started gelling together over the summer as they played their first shows in the band.
Who are your musical influences?
We have a wide array of musical influences ranging from emo, to pop punk and hardcore. Some bands that influence our sound include Trash Boat, The Used, Underoath, Silverstein, As It Is, Counterparts, SeeYouSpaceCowboy…, Senses Fail, Holding Absence, The Story So Far, Stick To Your Guns, La Dispute and My Chemical Romance.
Where did the band name come from?
The project was originally called East 12th Street, however after a couple of live performances, I realised that it was a bit of mouthful to say. On our route home, we decided we needed a name change, which is how Neversaid was born.
How far back does your history with each other extend?
The three of us met at university in 2023 when I was advertising that I was in search of musicians. Koda and I were in our second year, and met by pure coincidence when I was put in the wrong class and was assigned group work.
Where have you toured?
Since the band formed, we have played in the following cities: London, Southampton, Birmingham, Peterborough, Brighton, Reading, Blackpool, Wrexham, Darwen, Preston, Chester, Cheltenham, and Gillingham.
Some notable acts we’ve played with include: Hawthorne Heights, Bleak Soul, Superlove, Octopus Montage, Novustory and Black Foxxes and BEX. We also played at Lume Fest in 2023 alongside Dream State, Graphic Nature, Delaire The Liar, Lake Malice and more.
In your opinion, how is your band different to all the other bands out there?
I believe that what sets Neversaid apart from other bands is how varied our sound is. We’ve often found ourselves to be both the heaviest and poppiest band on a lot of gig line-ups.
Our set gives the audience a chance to cry, dance, and spin-kick each other, all within 30 minutes.
If a deaf person were to ask you to describe the sound of your music, how would you describe it?
Our songs are energetic, emotional, and at times extremely aggressive. We have loud guitars, punchy drums and catchy vocal melodies.
