Oceanis are set to play the New Blood Stage at this years Bloodstock festival on Sunday the 11th August.
We catch up with the band to find out more about them, the festival, their thoughts and what you lucky Bloodstock go-er’s will see!
Can you give the readers a quick introduction to the band?
Hey, we’re Oceanis from Liverpool, UK
How would you describe your sound?
A melting pot of our individual tastes in music. We listening to everything from death and black metal to prog rock and djent. We just tried to create our own sound that combines little bits of everything.
Why did you want to become part of the New Blood Stage line up?
We wanted to be part of a festival that does a lot for unsigned metal bands. It’s so f*cking difficult trying to catch a break sometimes as venues and some promoters are only interested in making money and couldn’t give f*ck about the bands. From what we have seen, Bloodstock likes to give bands a chance and we wanted to be part of that.
What was your initial reaction when you found out you were playing on the New Blood Stage?
We went ape shit! We were dripping with sweat cos the venue so was so f*ckin hot and sweaty, but it was the best feeling in the world.
What can the audience expect from you at the festival?
We put our heart and soul into every show we play, whether it be 5 people or 5000 people, we treat every show the same!
What has been the bands biggest achievement so far?
We have had some awesome times in our brief history but winning Liverpool Metal to the Masses and getting to play the New Blood Stage is top of the pile!
Have you ever been to Bloodstock before? If so when and what did you enjoy most about it?
We unfortunately have never been but the line ups over the years have got better and better and we’re so happy to be part of festival with bands like Gojira, King Diamond, Lamb of God and Slayer.
What is your opinion of the Bloodstock line-up?
The line up is f*ckin sick. So many of our favourite bands and musicians are playing over the whole weekend. We’re properly excited to be part of it.
What are you looking forward to most at Bloodstock?
Meeting new bands, partying and of course playing the show of our lives.
Can you sum up Bloodstock in one sentence!
A proper metal festival for proper metal heads!
Any message you wish to pass on to the PM readers?
Just make sure you’re at the New Blood Stage at 12 noon on the Sunday and then we can party together.
Thank you for taking the time out to complete this interview, we are looking forward to seeing you at Bloodstock \m/ \m/
