Rising Swiss riff merchants OPHELIA’S EYE will release their awe-inspiring new mini-album, Hopeless World, on Friday 15th April. The soaring metal crew have also unveiled a killer new track and visualiser video for the song, My Honor – https://youtu.be/cXggiUYODzE .
Although the early beginnings of OPHELIA’S EYE can be tracked prior to 2020, the hotly-tipped five piece have only been in the public eye for under for two years. Comprised of a line-up that features Michel Egloff-Sieber (Vocals), Remo Lemp (Lead Guitar), Corinne Ryter (Rhythm Guitar), Stefan Bijkerk (Drums), and Sandro Suter (Bass), OPHELIA’S EYE have the technical ability, intent, and unabashed talent to be one of the major players in the European metal scene.
The exciting hard-hitters have squandered no time in setting out their plan of attack. Last year’s EP, Fight For Us, gathered unbridled feedback and praise from many quarters, with the likes of The Razor’s Edge, Moshville Times, Maximum Volume Music, Ever Metal, all firmly supporting the release. The relentless quintet finished 2021 by unleashing the single, The Demon behind My Mind , which only fortified their burgeoning stature.
The highly-rated metallers aim to take central stage with their brand new mini-album, Hopeless World, which takes from As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, and In Flames, through to Lamb Of God and Periphery. The record is stacked tightly with a plethora of blistering slabs of mighty metal loaded with commanding riffs and venom, as well as displaying strong melodies and dominant rhythmic dexterity. Guitarist, Corinne Ryter elaborates: “On this LP, we dealt with a number of difficult situations, from suicide, misused trust, divisiveness, envy, greed and selfishness. All the songs are packed with energy, some with engaging melodic riffs and some with astute melancholy. We really want the listener to think when hearing this record”. With their fan base growing daily, OPHELIA’S EYE have never been as motivated to transcend and evolve into a heavyweight force on the metal scene.
