The relentlessly rising Rainbreakers continue to release impressive new material from their forthcoming second album with their brand-new single ‘Light Me Up’, out today (Friday 28th May).
Following the highly successful release of their previous single ‘Ashes’ —including a limited-edition vinyl 7-inch, much sought after and prized by fans — ‘Light Me Up’ will also receive a special, limited release on the much-loved, and highly-collectable classic physical format!
The single’s parent album, ‘Forgotten Child’, is Rainbreakers’ second album and is due for release in early 2022. The band’s sophomore album draws together electrifying rock anthems, acoustic ballads, and melodic soul songs into one strong package that is both entertaining and thought-provoking.
The album’s strong lyrical content finds frontman Ben Edwards diving deep into memories of his nomadic childhood that found him moving from town to town, of times of uncertainty, and of broken relationships. Ultimately, though, ‘Forgotten Child’s message is a hopeful one: reminding us that past traumas don’t have to haunt us forever, as long as we’re willing to chase towards a brighter horizon and break through the rain.
‘Light Me Up’ is about coming-of-age and is inspired by the Grimm fairy-tale ‘Iron Hans’,” explains Ben, “The song explores the need to break away from parental restraints and learn how to become your own person.”
RNR praised this latest Rainbreakers’ release, calling ’Light Me Up’ “…an insistent and infectious riff-soaked rocker and coming-of-age tale, which augurs well for the forthcoming new album.”
