Rockingham Festival preview, Rock City Nottingham, 23rd, 24th and 25th of October 2015.

We are well and truly deep into rock music Festival season, Download has been and gone, as has Wildfire; the Steelhouse festival is this weekend and Bloostock the weekend after. For those of us who may not wish to camp, there are also a growing number of indoor festivals to choose from, SOS festival in July, HRH in November plus its sister festival’s AOR and Hammerfest in March now known as HRH UNITED, Planetrockstock in December, and now there is a new one, Rockingham who open their doors for the first time this October.

Rockingham takes place at Rock City, Nottingham on the same weekend that Firefest occupied, 23rd, 24th and 25th of October. It is also targeting the same crowd of people,  AOR and Hardrock fans.

After a teasing announcement from the organisers over a Valentine’s day announcement, which turned out to be Robby Valentine, the rest of the line-up has been steadily released until you get the impressive lineup we now see on the poster.

Any festival would be proud to have just one of those days, but to hit the ground running with a stunning three day line up like this, shows they mean business.

There are some real gems in that line up, Serpentine, Robert Tepper and headliner Tom Keifer on the Friday. Electric boys and headliners Gotthard on the Saturday, plus the Dan Reed Network, a band I have not seen since they destroyed Bon Jovi in Birmingham many many years ago.

Sunday is going to be amazing with Stan Bush, Valentine, Giuffria and headliners, the mighty Dokken.

See you there.

Follow Rockingham on Facebook and look out for another band being added to the Sunday.
