Sa-Da-Ko, pre-Bloodstock festival interview

Sa-Da-Ko are set to  storm the New Blood Stage on Sunday 12th at this year’s Bloodstock.

We catch up with the guys to find out more about them, what they are about, the festival and what you lucky Bloodstock go-er’s can expect from them!

Can you give the readers a quick introduction to the band?

We are Sa-Da-Ko, a 5 piece metal band from the northwest of England, made up by Jim- Lead Vocals, Jay- Guitar, Simo- Lead Guitar and Vocals, Gregzilla- Drums and Rob- Bass.

Sa-Da-Ko started out as a studio based project, then in 2009 we realised that we needed to take this shit live, pulling in the best local talent, we became the full on beast with the lineup stated above, breaking venues and faces all over the UK. Sa-Da-Ko has been categorized as many different genres of metal, most often as “groove metal”, but we prefer to class ourselves just as good old heavy metal- hold the bullshit!! Taking influence from everywhere and everything, films, games and music of every genre, to altered perceptions, shit jobs and the state of the world in which they live, Sa-Da-Ko means something different to everyone.

Have you ever been to Bloodstock before? If so when and what did you enjoy most about it?

Unfortunately, none of us have ever been to Bloodstock before, but from what we hear its pretty much the best goddamned metal festival in the UK, so we have made it our mission to smash the living shit outta the festival, play a blinder, check out all the awesome bands they’ve got on offer,  and get as drunk as humanly possible….

Why did you want to become part of the New Blood Stage line up?

I think any band who takes what they do seriously would want to be part of it, we have tried for the past couple of years to get on it, and finally we have achieved our goal- and we cannot wait!!!

What was your initial reaction when you found out you where playing on the New Blood Stage?

We couldn’t believe it to be honest. It was a very tough competition, the standard of bands we were up against was very high. It was one of those moments that we will remember forever, a mixture of all emotions- the adrenaline’s still pumping!!!

What is your opinion of the Bloodstock lineup?

Its awesome. Theres a lot of new bands on offer, and the headline acts are quality- personally, Im  (Jim) looking foreward to Behemoth quite a lot, but its literally wall to wall boss bands!!

What are you looking forward to most at Bloodstock?

Obviously playing.

What can the audience expect from you at the festival?

In your face metal you can bang your head to, pit the fuck out, and witness a band that genuinely enjoy what they do and has a passion for the greatest kinda music there is- jazz!

Can you sum up Bloodstock in one sentence?

A huge opportunity for any band on all levels.

Any message you wish to pass on to the PM readers?

That they should come check us out on the Sunday, and have a few beers with us and rock the fuck out!!

Anyone who likes what they hear can look forward to our first full-length album out soon, entitled “AWAKENINGS”

 See you at Bloodstock \m/
