Satyricon – Interview with Satyr

On the coldest day of the year so far, a black wind blew in from the north as Norwegian black metal legends Satyricon arrived on British shores as part of their European tour to promoted their self-titled eighth album.

PM hooked up with front man Satyr before the band’s debut appearance in Belfast, to discuss the deeply personal nature of the aforesaid album, the importance of returning to their analogue, organic roots, how heavy metal has become over-complicated and the importance of exploring new territories, both musically and geographically:

The tour continues at the Academy in Dublin tonight (Wednesday November 12th) and finishes at the O2 Academy in London on Thursday (November 14th).  Support comes from Chthonic.

‘Satyricon’ is out now on Roadrunner Records.  To visit Amazon’s Satyricon store, click on the banner at the top of the page.
