Summary:

Thunderbolt is a fantastic album and if you haven't already got it then pick up the tour edition - Saxon fans won't be disappointed with this release.

Back in February this year, Saxon released Thunderbolt, which has proven to be one of their best and most popular albums in recent years. Planetmosh reviewer Dennis Jarman certainly liked it – check out his review here.

Now the band have decided to release a “Tour edition” version of the album. The Special Tour Edition features live recordings of “Thunderbolt” and “Nosferatu (The Vampire’s Waltz)” recorded in Frankfurt and Los Angeles on the 2018 Thunderbolt World Tour. The CD format also contains a 10? x 10? poster with photos of the band while on Tour.

So, if you’ve already got the album then the appeal is really in those two live tracks, and as good as they are, it’s a lot of money for two tracks, although you could sell your old copy. If however you haven’t bought the album already then now is the time to do so – you get an excellent Saxon album, plus the two bonus live tracks, so it’s even better than the original release.

Thunderbolt is a fantastic album and if you haven’t already got it then pick up the tour edition – Saxon fans won’t be disappointed with this release.
