Shattered Skies – Pianomation (E.P)

Shattered Skies are a self confessed “groove metal” band from Wicklow, Dublin, Ireland.

Drawing influences from bands as diverse as Meshuggah, Pantera, Nightwish and Nine Inch Nails they have successfully created a unique sound good enough to propel them to first place in the Got-Djent New Band competition which insured them a slot on the Euroblast festival last year.

Having already been familiar with their acclaimed “Reanimation” e.p, I was somewhat curious when I heard whisperings of a brand new piano driven cd and wondered how their sound would translate into this new found territory.

”As The Sea Divides” is a brand new track written exclusively for this e.p starting of with an electronic based opening chords before launching a sudden burst of power as the track kicks into full flow of electronic infused anthem that will become a firm favourite of fans old and new alike.

“Beneath The Waves”, “Attrition”, and “Chasing After Time” are re-workings of tracks previously featured on the Reanimation e.p and seem to have translated across perfectly enhancing the already well rounded vocal talents of front man Sean Murphy and showcasing this extra dimension to this fantastic band.

Highlight of the e.p: As The Sea Divides.
