Summary:

Sisters Doll are not toying around here as they kick out the jams with their recently released third album Scars.

2025 gets off to a full on rocking start as Australian glam rock sensations Sisters Doll release their third studio album Scars on January 24th to bring the thunder from down under. They’ve just released ‘Don’t Give Up On Us’, the first single taken from it on January 17th and as well as releasing the Scars album, the four brothers will be undertaking their first visit to the UK, playing an extensive tour supporting Kickin Valentina.

Twelve highly impressive tracks open the album with ‘Purgatory’. Beautiful flamenco touches and abrasive guitar swathes make for a gripping instrumental.

‘Climbing Out Of Hell’ is a full on red blooded rocker with pieces of AOR to add some luscious melodies to the guitar bombast, especially from a midway guitar solo.

‘Prisoner’ is a drum heavy piledriver that briefly take its foot off the gas to herald the arrival of stadium filling choruses and another finger blistering guitar solo.

‘Change’ is all sugar sweet vocals that should surely elevate this laid back ballad with balls, soar straight to rock radio airplay.

‘First Time’ is a hairy headbanger, bringing to mind early Tesla. It’s pinned down by hefty bass guitar bombast, prominent acoustic guitar, but nirvana is reached by a superfluous midway guitar solo.

A glorious slice of pomp rock for ‘Don’t Give Up On Us’ could break the coldest heart as riffs crash and burn around earthshaking drum salvos.

It’s back to the heavy duty material as ‘Baby Doll’ is a romper stomper that surely put the recording levels in the red, especially from a chorus that comes out from nowhere.

It’s time to get the air guitars out as ‘United’ makes us boogie no more, a magnum opus to make for my album highlight.

‘Take You Away’ is blues rock par excellence that also fires up a metal storm to test the power of any p.a system its blasted through.

‘Kiss Me’ is unashamed pop rock that adds fresh tones to an already sugar sweet dance floor filler for a song of love lost, ending on a flourish of feelgood vibes.

‘You Can’t Bring Me Down’ (Not the Suicidal Tendencies classic) but gives it a run for the money as it hurtles along on a hot rails to hell journey of persistent choruses, fretboard wizardry and a pulverizing rhythm section.

This over the top album ends with the title track. Beginning with acoustic majesty, it shines bright for six minutes that reaches out on a stratospheric lead vocal, yet more guitar showmanship and tectonic plate worrying drum fury.
