Summary:

It's a great EP - the only real downside is that its a 4 track EP rather than a full-blown album as I'd certainly like to hear more from Sky Valley Mistress.

Sky valley mistress - Rivals, hounds & rebel sistersSky valley mistress are a rock and roll band from Blackburn that has just released their latest EP – “Rivals, hounds & rebel sisters”.

There’s a strong Blues influence in the music, and you might detect influences such as Led Zeppelin or Black Sabbath but what hits you immediately is the dirty fuzzy guitar sound which contrasts nicely with the clean vocals.  It’s music that definitely sounds at it’s best when played nice and loud (I’m not sure my neighbours will agree, but never mind).

The band have released a video for the first song – “Smoke fairy” – check it out below.
