Slander – Get ‘Em Slandered (E.P)

Originally forming on the crest of the rock explosion of the late 80’s Blackpool based Slander quickly made a name for themselves with there no frills brand of post nwobhm classic rock sounds.

Having returned after a break of 15 years only to have to change their singer within a short space of time.  They were then faced with a dilemma of how to refocus the band and rekindle their fans interest in them.

Simple get their fans to request their favourite classic rock tracks that they would like Slander to cover then put the six most requested tracks into an e.p while working on new Slander material.

Now covers albums can either be a hit or miss owing to the fickle nature of rock fans.

In this case Slander manage to pull it off, putting together an ep of tried and tested numbers from early legends of rock and nwobhm such as Diamond Head (“Am I Evil”), Kiss (“Detroit Rock City”), The Scorpions (“The Zoo”) through to the more “modern” classic tracks by Iron Maiden (“Hallowed Be Thy Name”) and Anthrax (“Madhouse”).

With this release Slander have once again proved that they can overcome obstacles and continue to push forward and expand up on their legacy and I cant can’t wait to hear the new Slander material when it comes out.

Highlight of the e.p: “The Zoo”
