Summary:

It's one of those albums that puts a smile on your face and is well worth a listen.

Slim Chance is the band founded by Ronnie Lane after he left the Small faces. Although Ronnie died many years ago, the band lives on, and it’s latest incarnation dates back to 2011 when some former members reunited to restart the band. Between them the current members have an impressive musical history having worked with artists including Nine below zero, Ian Dury, Eric Clapton, Van Morrison, Glen Tilbrook, Rory Gallagher, and The Who. This is the third album since reforming in 2011.

The album kicks off with “Let’s go home” a fantastic Cajun boogie with a fun feel. It’s a great opening to the album. “Chicken wired” is the first of several songs on the album written by Ronnie Lane. It’s a great version of the song. There’s an excellent cover of The Who’s “Squeezebox” to enjoy too.

It’s a great album – something a little different to other bands around. It’s got 50s rock and roll, blues, cajun boogie, folk and more all combined into one great album. It’s one of those albums that puts a smile on your face and is well worth a listen.
