Emerging Brit progressive heavyweights KARMEN FIELD have just released an engulfing new video for the track, Benighted – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9l37cTb5Nmk . The song is taken from their explosive debut album, Black Star Emperor, which is out now via all major streaming platforms.
KARMEN FIELD express a commanding, progressive and atmospheric grunge-based sound nodding to the majesty and guile of Tool, Alice In Chains, Muse, and Audioslave. Hailing from Cardiff, Wales, the band were officially born at the end of 2019. Comprised of Molly McBreen (vocals), Will Bird (lead guitar and backing vocals), Lewis Goold (bass), and Joe Roper (drums), the diligent four-piece worked within a bubble during the pandemic to extensively shake and shift their engrossing sound. When live music resumed, KARMEN FIELD were more than gig ready and embarked on a flurry of shows throughout Wales and England. Appearances at Metal 2 the Masses added to their growing fanbase, and so too did support shows with everyone from Pulverise, Mother Vulture, Haxan, Pearler, King Kraken, and many others.
With their live reputation gathering acclaim, the band commenced work and demoing on their debut album, Black Star Emperor, at Northstone Studios. By the early part of 2023, the prog grungers had finally completed the record, and the album landed in July 2023 to the delight of their eager followers. The high flying four-piece are now poised to release a stunning video for the track, Benighted. Drummer, Joe Roper remarks about the motivation behind the single: “Benighted is primarily a rebellious song about being in an abusive relationship and calling out the abuser. The song as a whole is a middle finger to people who are morally ignorant.”
Further live performances and singles will follow during the coming months, so look out for announcements via the band’s socials.
