At very short notice, Black Star Riders, unfortunately, have cancelled their appearance at STONEDEAD FESTIVAL. Stonedeaf Productions LTD have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to find an outstanding band to headline on Saturday.
We are absolutely delighted that the legendary monster of rock URIAH HEEP has stepped into the breach and will headline Tommy Vance stage.
The band management explains:
‘It is with very deep regret that we have to announce BLACK STAR RIDERS
cancellation on this year’s Stonedead festival, taking place this Saturday, August 28th at Newark Showground, UK. The reason is all Covid related’
BSR Frontman Ricky Warwick added
“I’m absolutely heartbroken that Black Star Riders have had to withdraw from Stonedead this coming weekend. I honestly believed that we would be in a better place by now and we have been monitoring the situation very closely over the past weeks to do everything possible to make the trip, Flights, Hotels, Rehearsals, Crew, Transport – everything was booked ready to go, but the risk of testing positive (even though we were all vaccinated) and therefore being isolated a long way from home and family with us having to withdraw from the festival anyway was all too prevalent. I am also very sorry to say a member of Black Star Riders went down with full-blown Covid yesterday, which of course reinforced wholly the decision we had made. I would like to thank everyone involved with the Stonedead Festival for their support and understanding. And to all of you wonderful people, have a truly wild and wonderful time. Once again my sincere apologies… we will make it up to you.
See you soon and stay safe…Love, peace and rock n roll’ Ricky Warwick
At the last minute, URIAH HEEP has taken time out of the studio to jump into the headline position
Uriah Heep’s Mick Box:
“After our hugely successful and emotional headline spot at the ‘Steelhouse’ festival in Wales, where we had an exclusive agreement to not play any other UK festival this year, the promoters Mikey and Max have kindly decided to rescind that clause and allow us to headline the Stonedead festival on Saturday the 28th of August. This is so amazing and the mighty ‘Heep’ are honoured to be asked to
perform there. We are truly sorry that Black Star Riders cannot perform this year but we are all very buzzed about taking their place. We cannot wait and see you all on Saturday! ‘Appy days!’ Mick.
Stonedeaf Productions Ltd would like to thank all Stonedead ticket holders and fans for their understanding in this situation plus everyone at Steelhouse festival for helping them out and hope you all have a great day on Saturday

FESTIVAL is an outdoor, one day, one stage, monster of a festival where rock music
reigns eternal. We place the rock fan experience at its core.
With over 50 years and 24 studio albums behind them, URIAH HEEP is a piece of rock history and a fitting band to close Stonedead. Amongst other British bands such as Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple, Uriah Heep is a notable part of the early 70s rock scene and is often referred to as pioneers of the hard rock and progressive rock genres. Classics such as ‘Stealin’, ‘The Wizard’ and
‘Easy Livin’ will echo through the arena as thousands of rock fans enjoy a very ‘eavy and very ‘umble trip’ through rock time.
Rock party band Terrorvision are enjoying a resurgence of their popularity, following the ‘Britrock Must Be Destroyed Event’ which saw the band play alongside other 90’s iconic bands: Reef, The Wildhearts and Dodgy in 2018 and a number of shows to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of the iconic LP “Regular Urban Survivors”. Tony Wright (vocals), Mark Yates (guitar), Leigh Marklew (bass), Milly Evans (keys) and Cam Greenwood (drums) will certainly take the party up a notch in August. Terrorvision has true Yorkshire grit with a host of hits from Tequila, Alice What’s the Matter, My House, D’ya Wanna Go Faster to Oblivion, the vibrant rockers guarantee to get you bouncing, singing along and waving your arms in the air.
Legendary Scottish rockers GUN will bring an arsenal of hooky riffs and catchy songs to the STONEDEAD Tommy Vance stage. Celebrating 30 years since the release of their 1989 debut album Taking on The World, which saw the band tour with The Rolling Stones on their Steel Wheels tour in 1990. The momentum continued to gather when the band release Gallus in 1992 and an arena tour with Def Leppard followed. The double album release R3LOADED, featuring an amalgamation of their best singles from the band’s seven albums such as Steal Your Fire, Better Days and Don’t Say It’s Over, and a collection of cover songs, including the song that gave them a household hit Word Up by Cameo, for which the band won the prestigious MTV Europe Music Award for Best Cover. Dante Gizzi (vocals), Jools Gizzi (guitar), Paul McManus (drums), Andy Carr (bass) and Tommy Gentry (guitar) never fail to deliver, and are guaranteed to put on one hell of a show for the STONEDEAD faithful!
After a rip-roaring success playing at our first STONEDEAF in 2018, the MASSIVE WAGONS Lancaster lads are back to entertain once again. After a busy year working away behind the scenes pushing their latest album that they’ve not yet been able to tour, we are looking forward to hearing the tunes that saw us through Summer 2020 such as In It Together and House of Noise from their fifth studio album of the same name. The fearless five-piece will be bringing their high energy, high volume show to the Tommy Vance stage, complete with epic solos and sing-a-longs that will be sure to have us all
bouncing in the crowd!
Southern 70’s blues-influenced hard rock doesn’t get much better than the Kris
Barras Band fronted by guitarist and vocalist Kris Barras; providing an explosion of gritty, hard rock blues, with killer riffs.
Birmingham’s very own Blaze Bayley returns to Newark having previously performed in 2018 with Wolfsbane; this time bringing a UK summer exclusive of his Iron Maiden years.
THE TREATMENT has been flying the flag for British Rock n’ Roll since back in 2008 and continue to light a fire in the modern rock scene with powerful guitars, catchy choruses and strong vocals. They saw success in their early years by securing support slots on tour with Kiss and Mötley Crüe in 2012 and then 2013, playing Ozzfest in Japan and four dates with Slash in the UK. Despite some lineup changes over the years, the band have maintained a full and fresh sound that will resonate with STONEDEAD fans, especially for those who have had them on the wish list for quite some time. Get ready for them to rock your socks off!
Guitarist Myke Gray founder and songwriter of Skin, Jagged Edge and Red White and Blues brings his exciting new Shades of Gray project and old classics to STONEDEAD.
