South Wales tunesters SWEET IGNITIONS have just unleashed a cracking new single, Running – https://youtu.be/9j2d51bmY2A . We wanted to find out more about the band. Check out the below fun quiz:
A song that made you want to make music? – If we go for a group effort that we can all agree on – Midlife Crisis by Faith no More
Best rider you’ve ever had? – The Muse at Brecon with SI as we got paid, had beers and these incredible Fajitas. Previously with our old band we had loads and done quite interesting…..
Craziest thing you’ve experienced in the band? – having to break out of our apartment in London when we were staying when recording the first singles. The security system failed so we were locked in!
Deepest lyric one of your songs features? – They’re all deep lol. This single though includes the line – I didn’t lose my mind it lost me. It has a lot of meanings
Easiest song you wrote? – They all take work but maybe Animal our next single seemed to come together quickly
Favourite song in your set? – we all really enjoy playing this single Running
Guest you’d most like to feature on your record? – You’d get a lot of mileage out of Dave Grohl. Vox, guitars, drums guitars. In fact you could pretty much let him do it all lol
Hardest thing about being in a band? Time. We all work and there’s so much that we want to do, songs sat in the wing, recording new songs, videos, photos. We need more of it!
Interesting fact about one of your members? About 3 years ago Matt cycled the Tumble (which is a hill used by tour cyclists for training) 10 times up and down in a day for charity whic takes some doing. This was pre band, now he’d struggle to make it a mile to the shop to buy his smokes lol
Jokes you have in the band? Huw Thomas Security is a big one which is all related to having to escape the flat in London and Huws amazing job to secure if after we got back in
Key to writing a song? Never settling and never being to scared to drop a song that you’ve been working on. They all take work but generally they come together quickly as it’s a natural flow. Sometimes you try hard to make something work but if it isn’t then let it go
Longest distance you’ve travelled to play a show? Brighton to do the Great Escape but it was worth it just for the fun that we had after the gig let alone playing!
Most inspiring musician you’ve experienced? When we recorded our first singles in London we went to see Mike The Patton with Dead Cross and it was great to see him in such a small venue. When you think of what he’s done then it’s incredible. He’s currently doing Mondo Cane, that alone shows how out there but talented that he is.
New band you’d recommend? We saw THiS recently and they were really tight and great live
Opening for this band would be ideal? It’s hard not to say QOTSA as we’re all such huge fans
Place you’d most like to tour? I think most bands would say America and we’d be no different though Lino with his Italian heritage would love to tour Italy
Quote you’d like to pass on to our readers? The man who makes no mistakes makes nothing.
Reason for the title of your recent/forthcoming release? It’s all about being under pressure and feeling like you’re losing your mind so you’re trying to escape it.

The old days of music were better than the current, do you agree? – For Rock music then you’d have to say yes
Unusual merchandise? Not yet but we have ideas!
Variations you’d like to do of any of your songs? We did a country acoustic version of the last single Daggers which we will put on our page. Again time, we just didn’t manage to film a video of it before releasing the single. There are also two videos of acoustic versions of our first two singles on our Facebook page.
What do your fans mean to you? You won’t get anywhere without the support of people so they are everything
Xrays or any other treatments needed for band related injuries? There’s been a few over the years!
You’re late for a show, whose fault is it? Matt! His time Keeping skills are legendary!
Zoo animal that best describes the personality of your band? – I guess it has to be a chimpanzee. You tend to associate them with humour and we’re definitely fun loving.
