Brit tunesmiths SWEET IGNITIONS have just released their enthralling new single, Running – https://youtu.be/9j2d51bmY2A .
Rising South Wales crew, Sweet Ignitions, certainly have a keen ear for killer harmony, as witnessed by the band’s current single, Running. As you peel back the layers beyond their nifty refrains, you will also discover the foursome’s obsession with fuzzed guitar lines and desert rock riffery. The end result is a sound that delivers melodies that hit just as hard as the riffs.
Formed at the end of 2017 by Matt Phillips (Guitar and Vocals) and Lino Malnati (Guitar and Backing Vocals), the duo soon recruited bassist Huw Thomas, who brought a low-end rumble honed by years on the South Wales scene. The final piece of the puzzle arrived in the shape of hard-hitting drummer, Ty Walker. With a full line-up in place, the band debuted with their single, Holy Scars, in late 2018, and it racked up positive feedback with rock blogs, as well as exposure on BBC Radio Wales. The track also received strong support from Johnny Doom, notching up solid airplay on his Kerrang! Radio show. Their follow up singles, Neptune and Daggers, created an even bigger stir, making their way across the pond to LA and Canada. Both singles have helped to firmly place the band on the map.
SWEET IGNITIONS are now poised to go a step further with the release of their spanking new single, Running. The single is everything you would expect from a band who have a love for melody and burly riffs. With a towering chorus and a punchy delivery, the track is destined to hit the airwaves. The band remark about the single: “This song is about the feeling that you’re falling apart and can’t seem to stop it, so instead you try to run from the issues. It’s something that most of us have felt at some point. In the end, there’s the realisation that you have to face up to your problems and generally things do turn around for the better.”
SWEET IGNITIONS have more releases in the works for the remainder of the year, as well as further support shows on the way. Hit up the band’s social sites for announcements.
