What is the full band line-up, who sings and who plays which instrument?
Kim Stacey-Merino – Mistress of lore – Vocalist, Lyricist and Narrator
Michael Merino – Master of Melodies – Lead Guitarist, String Assassin and Song Writer
Dan Tuck – Master of Rhythm – Bass and Synth, Doom Slayer and Song Writer
David Brett – Master of Time – Drums, Groove Demon, Song Writer
Yus Dervish – Master of Harmonies – Rhythm Guitar, Hell Hound, Song Writer.
How and when did the band form?
With the meeting of like minded souls back in the year 2022 in the town of Hertford and bonding over tales that needed to be told in the medium of metal.
Tell us anything interesting about your hometown.
We are travellers from many a different town however interesting fact about Dunstable, there is a myth about a witch’s spirit that was trapped in a bottle and buried after she caused a bit of mischief in the local church……
When and how did the band really start gelling and solidifying?
After our first full meeting as the core five members, once we picked up our instruments we knew we had stories to tell and a medium in which to tell them.
Who are your musical influences?
Pantera, Alter Bridge, Slipknot, Avenged Sevenfold, Limp Bizkit, Children of Bodom, Metallica, Korn, Sepultura, Fintroll, Queen, Meat Loaf, In This Moment, Ice Nine Kills
Where did the name of the band come from?
Tellers – we are tellers of stories
Scribe – we are collectors of stories.
Name one crazy, interesting, or wild fact or story about the band or a specific member?
David and Yus have been friends for 30+ years and Mikes beard reaches his belly button.
How far back does your history with each other (the band members) extend?
Mike and Kim have been a couple for 14 years and met Dan 5 years ago when they all started playing together in their band Skarlet Envy.
They then met David in Hitchin at Club 85 at the Metal to the Masses competition in 2022.
In 2023 Yus was introduced to the members, by David who played with him in their previous band Nothing Gained (active 2006 – 2013) and had known each other socially prior to this.
In your opinion, how is your band different from all the other bands out there?
We are more than a band, we are story tellers, bringing history, lore and legend alive and lacing it with a metal vibe. We are a concept, a society and musicians with a rich history and character that comes across in our performance.
If a deaf person were to ask you to describe the sound of your music, how would you describe it?
A rhythmic, deep groove that takes hold of your soul and brings you through vast emotions from joy to despair.
