Ten Ton Slug première ‘Unit’ on PlanetMosh ahead of Bloodstock Festival show

Ten Ton Slug

Ever since the beast that is Ten Ton Slug was crowned the M2TM winner for 2016 in Dublin, it has been hatching plans for domination of the Bloodstock Festival at Catton Hall park this weekend. PlanetMosh is proud to unveil the first track from their upcoming ‘Brutal Gluttonous Beast’ EP.

‘Brutal Gluttonous Beast’ will be available in late September and features four slabs of sludgy, slimy goodness, clocking in at 28 minutes. One of these tracks appeared on last year’s live demo ‘Live at the Oaks’ while the rest are previously unreleased and will be familiar to those who have caught Ten Ton Slug live over the past year….

Sean had a few words for us about the release: “Unit is a song about the last surviving group of mortals making their final stand. It is all that is Slug; it’s heavy, groovy and builds towards a final riff that will will leave you crushed under the weight of the Slug!”

Listen to ‘Unit’ below and make sure you catch their performance on the Hobgoblin New Blood Stage at Bloodstock Festival on Saturday 13th August at 12 midday.

SLUGOGRAPHY

Based in Galway and originally from the depths of Connemara in the west of Ireland, the Ten Ton Slug has ingested 5 humans and leaves a trail of sludge/groove metal in it’s wake. Some say it came from the bog, others claim it originated in the mountains but what is known for sure is that its first victims were Sean and Micheal Sullivan. Gigging started in early 2014 with Adam former bassist Ragas, who escaped in 2015. New bassist Eoghain Wynne then joined around the time vocals were appointed to lung slug Ronán Ó ‘hArrachtáin.

Ten Ton Slug released a well received two-track live demo ‘Live at the Oaks’ in September 2015, and has gigged extensively around Ireland since, most notably winning the Metal 2 the Masses Ireland competition in May 2016, securing a slot on the New Blood Stage at Bloodstock Festival 2016 in the UK.

Expect to see Ten Ton Slug leave its sludgy trail around Ireland and the UK over the coming months as it gears up to release it’s debut EP ‘Brutal Gluttonous Beast’ at the end of September.

The Slug is hungry. The Slug shows no mercy.
