If you’re one of the fortunate few to have snapped up this sold-out re-release of Terrorizer‘s seminal grindcore pillar World Downfall, we @PlanetMosh salute you.

Record labels occasionally re-release out of print items for various reasons.

Here, Earache Records re-released this on colorful vinyl (100 orange, 200 green, 300 red, and 900 black copies) to celebrate the band’s 24th anniversary.

This is a classic “Morrisound era” platter of uncompromising riffs and monstrous sound, from start to finish.

From the blasting speed of tunes like “Human Prey”, to the thrash goodness from songs like “Fear Of Napalm”, you’re in for a real ride through the most violent circle pits of horror.

The production is typical for the era: the bass isn’t as ‘deep’ in to the mix – it’s plenty audible, just not as punchy as it could be – and the overall presentation has that analog hiss we came to know and love, before the days of digital playback.

Because of those limitations, the music is ten times more pummeling.

The late Jesse Pintado‘s guitar blasts through a wall of bass guitar and percussion (handled by Morbid Angel‘s David Vincent and Pete Sandoval, respectively), while Oscar Garcia harshly barks out politically-charged lyrics.

‘Required listening’ for any fan of the more extreme metal subgenres, spinning through 35-odd minutes, you’ll quickly appreciate why these guys were at the top of their game, on this, their epic debut.

It’s crazy good – if you can, pick this one up!
